Dr. Jennifer Ayotte
DPT, Cert MDT, and COMT 2023
Jen, a military spouse, and mother of five beautiful children, enjoys country life, hiking, camping, and gatherings. Cooking for a group is one of her favorite things to do, especially when cooking with her children.
Jen and her husband, Norm, came to Kentucky when they were stationed at Fort Knox in 2013. They fell in love with Kentucky and returned when Norm retired from the military in 2017.
Upon high school graduation, Jen earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Buffalo State College in Education. She continues teaching science and other various classes for private schools and home school groups on a part time basis. After working in fitness programs at the YMCA in her native town near Buffalo, New York for several years, Jen attended Daemen College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy with a minor in Neurobiology in 1997. Soon after graduation, she moved to North Carolina and specialized in Spine. She became certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment, MDT. While practicing there, she met Norm. They were married and began a family. They lived in many different states due to the requirements of Norm’s Active-Duty status. She has over 20 years’ experience in orthopedics, neuro rehab, vestibular conditions and specializes in spinal therapy. She has been in senior staff and supervisory positions in various clinics and was the Continuing Education Committee Chair for the Hawaii Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Currently, Jen is enrolled in the Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Doctorate of Physical Therapy Programs through Evidence In Motion with graduation pending this spring 2023.
Jen is a firm believer in a hands-on, one on one approach. At the heart of this, she provides personalized care involving teaching the patients about their condition and how to help themselves. Patient education is an integral part of rehab, and this blends well with her Physical Therapy training in the development of personalized programs for her patients. She has a passion for providing quality therapy that will assist patients in gaining a higher-level function, reduced symptoms, and improved health. Patients recover more completely when care providers work together as a team to assist each patient in achieving individual rehab goals. It is her belief that every patient deserves the best care possible, compassion, and attention.
Jen is a strong manual therapist that believes the best care comes from a combination of experience, hard work and personalized care tailored to the specific needs of the patient. She has a passion for developing treatment programs that focus on the whole person and their long-term goals.
